Get Ready Factoid

A list of Jesus’ 12 disciples appears 4 times in the Bible: Matthew 10, Mark 3, Luke 6 and Acts 1. Whose name is listed first in each? Peter!

The first 12 chapters of Acts revolve around Peter. He is the key. He preaches at Pentecost, does the first great miracle, faces the Sanhedrin, and has the dream that brings the gospel to the Gentiles!

You might think him a quick learner? No! No disciple had more catastrophic public failures. He constantly got it wrong!

Peter was the key to the explosion of the early church because he was the most broken of all the disciples. Showing that the Last shall be First.

"And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, 'If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.' ... But many who are first will be last, and the last first” (Mark 9:35 ESV, Mark 10:31 ESV emphasis supplied).
