Earlier this year, my brother and I read through the Gospel of Mark, looking for the faith of Jesus in each chapter. We prayed and created 3-5 minute videos for each chapter, sharing our thoughts on the faith of Jesus with a weekly challenge.
I believe that the faith of Jesus is what we all need today. Jesus calls us not only to have faith in Him but also to live each day with the faith that Jesus has. Faith will be crucial when we face future tests of our faith. As Jesus' second coming approaches, we need His faith more than ever. Even the smallest amount of faith can accomplish mighty things.
"So Jesus said to them, 'Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.'"
Matthew 17:20
God’s people living at the end of time will have the faith of Jesus. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12 KJV).
I invite you to join my brother and me as we continue to explore the faith of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark.
Call to Action
Mark Chapter 5 Challenge: Just as Jesus was fearless, let us also not fear anything the devil might throw at us. Let us run to Jesus and stand strong against the fiery darts of the evil one. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7 ESV).
Mark Chapter 6 Challenge: When Jesus went to His hometown of Nazareth, He was rejected. Although Jesus must have been very sad, He moved on through Faith in His Father. Jesus says that His followers will have to face rejection from the world, but hold onto your faith just as Jesus did, and God will see you through. “The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me” (Luke 10:16 ESV).
Mark Chapter 7 Challenge: Have faith without sight. If you’re praying for someone, and nothing seems to be happening, keep pressing on, and have faith that God will answer your prayer in His perfect timing. “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12 ESV).
Mark Chapter 8 Challenge: Take up your cross, deny yourself, and do whatever God is calling you to do. “And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23 ESV).
As we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark in search of the Faith of Jesus, let us remember this verse, "Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2 ESV).
Jesus will perfect and help us grow our faith. Let us be vessels willing to be molded by the Master Potter.

Each Thursday through October 2, a new episode on the Faith of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark will be published on our YouTube channel.
