Many people say that God does not exist. But we Christians do not understand sometimes that people who pronounce these statements are often those who have only lived 20, 30, 40, or 50 years. Yet, they try to judge the existence of a Divine Being who has existed through eternity! Not only that, but they try to deny that which God Himself created and how it was created! Take, for example, the case of Charles Darwin, an evolutionist who claimed that all things come about by natural causes from a common ancestor. But he failed to consider who created the common ancestor!

Another attempt to deny the existence of God is the theory of the “Big Bang.” Its proponents say that there was a moment 13.8 billion years ago when the universe began as a tiny, dense fireball that exploded. But these scientists fail to explain again who created the small, dense fireball and who decided it was time for the explosion to happen!

One scientist claimed that our universe started when a rock the size of a human fist exploded up in heaven, and our entire planetary system suddenly came into existence. But that scientist was ridiculed by one of his students when he was asked, “And who put the rock up in the sky?”  We know that explosions destroy things; they do not make things. How do we know this? Put a stick of dynamite inside a big rock, light it up, and then watch what happens. The rock gets pulverized into many pieces! I think at that realization the so-called scientist might wish the Earth would open up and swallow him!

When you or I study the Holy Bible to know God and Jesus, His beloved Son, and contemplate His purpose for our lives, we will begin to discover who God is and understand why He wants to be intimately present in our lives. God inspired certain authors to write what became the Bible not to hurt us, lie to us, or get us in trouble with His or human laws but to avoid pitfalls that our ancestors fell into before us.

Many people say that the Bible cannot be trusted. And why not? From the opening chapters of the Bible, we see how deceit works. Through a serpent, the Devil told Eve that if she ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she would not die. But she did eat from it, and did she die? Of course, she did! And so did Adam. Why did they die? Because both of them disobeyed God. Their Creator gave them the condition that as long as they stayed away from this tree and did not touch it or eat of it, they would live eternally. But they went against God’s counsel, and we know the rest of the story.

Call to Action

Let's not be deceived as Adam and Eve were (when they trusted a created being instead of the Creator God)—instead, let us trust the Creator (Proverbs 4:5-6) over created beings and keep the commandments of God (Exodus 20:2-17), not the commandments of men (Matthew 15:9). God exists—and may we keep our eyes open to opportunities to share God with others, whether they are doubtful or believing.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

Then a still, small voice stopped me in my tracks—I remembered one word I was accustomed to—prayer. Every step I made resounded into worship. Every breath I took was a God-breathed Spirit-filled prayer—down the steps and on the underground train. I reminded God that He...

I reluctantly went back to the park around 9:00 p.m. with my husband. It was pitch black as we drove. We could hear the crashing sound of the ocean waves as we made our way to the spot my husband had in mind. I wasn’t in the mood for this! I just wanted to go to bed. We reached our destination, and my husband exited the car and...

A few weeks after I returned to Maryland, we received a phone bill of about $1,500. We expected to pay not more than $500, but not three times this. I also noticed that another provider attached the long-distance bill to our regular phone bill. I called to question the bill several times, only to...
