Has your car ever gotten stuck in the mud? Have you ever had mud fly into your car? Did you know that the “original dashboard was a piece of wood that was fastened in front of a horse drawn carriage that prevented mud from hitting the driver?”1

We have all probably encountered mud. Mud can get people and cars in a lot of trouble! If a vehicle gets stuck in the mud, it can be hard or impossible to get out on our own. When we get stuck in sin, it is impossible to get out on our own. We need a Savior, Jesus Christ.

Just like people or cars need help when they get stuck in the mud, we also need help when we get stuck in sin. Jesus has offered to help us. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV).

Let’s ask Him right now to guide and lead us out of our sticky muddy sin. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 ESV).

When Jesus helps get us out of our sticky muddy sin, the mud (sin) disappears!

“I’ve blotted out your sins; they are gone like morning mist at noon…” (Isaiah 44:22 TLB).
