You may have recognized that promises make up the foundation of our civilization. Our society operates on our confidence in the promises made by spouses, employers, retailers, financial institutions, and governments. Promises are very important. An interesting thing about promises is that they are only as strong as the person or institution behind them. If the promiser can’t be trusted to make good on the promise, it cannot be relied on.
The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is The Guarantee of God’s promises. God’s glory, honor, character, and reputation are all hanging on Jesus Christ’s ability to fulfill every promise that God has made. This is an incredible responsibility, and it is only fitting that God has invested all power and authority in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18).
The same Jesus that God has chosen to be His Personal Guarantee is the One God has chosen to be your Personal Savior. Jesus Christ, The Guarantee of God, has been chosen by God to personally plan and execute every detail of your salvation.
Do you think you are far from God? Do you feel you have made a wreck of your life? Does it seem impossible for you to make things right with other people or with God? I want to introduce you to Jesus. He is The Guarantee of God. When God chose Jesus to be His Guarantee and your Personal Savior, God chose to stake His glory, honor, character, and reputation on Jesus Christ’s ability to save you. And He gave Jesus all power and authority to do it (Colossians 2:9).
You can trust Jesus! Let Him save you.
Call to Action
Don’t try to save yourself. Say, “Jesus, I am a sinner. I cannot save myself. I believe you can save me. Please help me. Get me out of my own way. Teach me to cooperate with God.”
