As Told By Eva

“Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.’”

Luke 2:10

My son Evan lives in Los Angeles, California. I live in Queens, New York. Evan drives a motorcycle to get to and fro. One night I got a phone call with news that no parent would ever want to get. My son was in a motorcycle accident. Being so far away what could I do? It is my routine to daily lift up their names to the throne of God. So I whispered a prayer in my heart as I listened to the sequence of the accident.

Evan was riding his motorcycle with his girlfriend sitting in the back seat. A jeep came out of nowhere and hit them directly from behind. My son's girlfriend was thrown 30 feet away. She got up and walked back to where the motorcycle was with no broken bones, only minor bruises. My son, however, had zero injuries. Two amazing miracles! It just so happened that when the jeep slammed into him, the front of the jeep got locked up with the back of the motorcycle. The motorcycle remained standing and my son remained seated on the motorcycle. Only God could have performed such a miracle. What wonderful news to know that God is watching over our loved ones. The emotions I felt that night went from total fear to relief, to great joy. What was initially terrible news, became a moment to praise the Lord for His miraculous protection.

Call to Action

The greatest news ever given to mankind was and is Jesus. Though we are surrounded with bad news, Jesus is alive! We have no reason to live in fear or worry when we are living in the Lord. Psalms 91:2: "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Will you trust all to Him? Will you trust your future, your children, and your life into His loving care?
