According to Forbes, if Jonas Salk, the creator of the polio vaccine, had patented his invention he would have made $7 billion dollars! Since he owned the rights he was asked, "Why didn't you?"

Salk replied, "Would you patent the sun?"

Guess we're all glad no one's done that! How could we live without the sun? That's how Salk felt about his polio vaccine. Millions of people around the world needed it because they faced living in an iron lung till the day they died.

If that's true about the sun? If that's true about the polio vaccine? How much more true is it about the love of God?

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God" (1 John 4:7 ESV).
