Did you know that about 3,000 droplets are expelled in a single cough, and some of them fly out of the mouth at speeds of 50 mph?1

Hasty words can do the same, especially when we do not pay attention to what we are thinking. When inconsiderate words spew out of our mouths, they usually land hard on people, particularly those we love. The feeling afterward can be just as bad or worse than cough droplets spread to others. David wrote, “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit” (Psalm 34:13).

May we through the Holy Spirit measure our words, and build one another up in Jesus.
