Three Wise Men. Really? Are you sure? Why do we say “three” when the Bible never gives us a number? Maybe we think we're helping God?
Eve added "touch" where God had only said "eat," (Genesis 2:17) when she said to the snake, “God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die’” (Genesis 3:3 ESV). Since the snake was already touching the tree and wasn’t dead, Eve figured maybe the fruit wasn't so dangerous and decided to try some for herself. We're all living with the aftermath of that!
So be careful! Sometimes we add to God’s word without even realizing it but the end result can still be deadly!
