"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6

Eve was deceived by the serpent, ate the fruit, and gave to her husband who also ate. In that moment, humanity separated from God and lost the face-to-face communication man enjoyed with the Creator. By breaking God's command, Adam and Eve brought death to the human race and gave Satan complete dominion over this world.

But God had a plan. Jesus would stand in the gap between the human and divine to restore the breach our first parents created and we perpetuate. This is an amazing promise, one the whole Bible spells out for every man, woman, boy, and girl on Earth. Every person can be delivered from this world of sin.

It came at a terrible cost. The apostle Paul described it this way: "[Christ] made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross" (Philippians 2:7–8). Only the love of God could stoop so low to save humanity at such a great price. Even though we rebelled, the Father and Son loved us too much to give us up.

Such amazing love drew me out of a world of darkness and into His abundant light. I grew up without any personal encounter with God, fast embracing the world and its lifestyle. I felt alone and miserable, and I knew that I needed someone greater than mankind. I cried out to God, and He heard me. He showed me how much He loved me and that He had been waiting for that moment. I surrendered everything to Him. The Lord welcomed me with open arms, not condemning me, but enfolding me with His love.

Call to Action

My friend, the same Savior that sought me out is seeking you as well. He longs to show you great and mighty things that you have never seen (see Jeremiah 33:3). Jesus takes no pleasure seeing the wicked die without Him. With arms outstretched He is calling to you. Please, do not ignore or reject His call, but turn to Him. There is nothing you can do that God will not pardon. Take hold of His hand today. You will not be disappointed.
